Laura Lipinski has been in private practice for over twenty years, spending her career with the downtown Chicago law firm of Schwartz Cooper Chartered until moving her practice to the western suburbs of Chicago in 2008.
Laura received her Bachelor of Science degree, cum laude, from Loyola University of Chicago, with a double major in Biology and Organizational Communication, where she was a member of the Alpha Sigma Nu National Honor Society and worked at the Loyola University radio station, WLUW. Laura received her Juris Doctor degree from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.
Laura is admitted to practice in the State of Illinois, the Northern District of Illinois, Eastern Division, and the United States Court of Appeals for the Seventh Circuit. She is a member of the American, Illinois State and Chicago Bar Associations and the National Academy of Elder Law Attorneys. Locally, she is a member of the Western Springs Business Association.
Laura has spoken at several seminars including one entitled "Advanced Issues in Probate for the Paralegal in Illinois" presented by the Institute for Paralegal Education at which topics included preparation of the federal fiduciary income tax return and identifying, analyzing and solving problems in estate administration. She also spoke on the subject "Special Needs Trusts for Disabled Persons" at the 2005 Illinois Spina Bifida Association Conference.
Laura and her family have lived in Western Springs for 10 years. Active in her community, Laura was recently elected to a four year term on the Western Springs District 101 School Board. Laura was a member of the Plan Commission of the Village of Western Springs from 2002 through 2008, serving as Chairperson in 2008. She served on the Board of the Western Springs Foundation for Educational Excellence (WSFEE) from 2004 to 2008, and acted as Board Treasurer for two years. Laura has been an active committee member with the Forest Hills PTA since 2002 (having co-chaired Teacher Appreciation Week for two years and having chaired the school's largest fundraiser for two years) and a classroom volunteer at Forest Hills Elementary School. She also volunteers as the manager for her son's Lyons Township Soccer Club (LTSC) team.
